On holiday in Italy you are bound to experience wonderful food in charming and atmospheric restaurants. Why not take the opportunity to acquire the skills to make some of your favourite meals when you return home and treat yourself to a cookery course at the fantastic il Maniero restaurant and art club. In a warm and friendly atmosphere academy chef Guida Stacchietti will teach you some of the secrets of regional and traditional Italian cooking.
Using fresh local ingredients you will learn how to cook a variety of dishes such as homemade pasta and mouth watering deserts, Guida will also guide you through food presentation so that your food looks as delicious as it tastes.
Courses can be organised according to your requirement, from a single morning followed by the lunch you have just created to a full 5 mornings after which you can either enjoy your lunch in the sumptuous dining rooms at Il Maniero or Guida will pack it up for you to enjoy at your leisure at Casal dei Fichi.
Co-host, Daniele Cristallini is an accomplished artist and you will be surrounded by works of art and antiques some of which can be purchased should you fall in love with a particular item.
Staying at Casal dei Fichi, in luxury self catering apartments, complete with full cooking facilities, you will have plenty of spare time to visit the many local markets and try out your newly taught skills using local recipes supplied by the restaurant. Use the freshest produce from our well stocked vegetable and herb gardens in your creations.
Subject to availability the courses can be arranged on dates to suit yourself and if you have any special requests we will of course try to ensure they are incorporated, maybe you've always wanted to make chestnut gnocchi? Costs for a morning's class followed by lunch with wine starts at £50 per person, the exact price would depend on the duration of the course and the number of participants, please contact us if you would like a specific quote.
