After much soul searching, and with heavy hearts we have decided that the time for moving on from Casal dei Fichi is approaching.
It is 20 years since we first saw the derelict farmhouse and were wowed by the views and now we feel that it is time to explore new adventures. We’re doing this while every day we are still wowed by the views. We still love welcoming guests, who have become friends, back to Casal dei Fichi and introducing new people to our corner of paradise. We still look forward to our pizza parties, about 300 so far!, and regaling guests with the story of how we came to spend the happiest 18 years in this relatively unknown part of Italy.
We think that we can be justifiably proud that with no experience in the hospitality industry we have created, from scratch, a business which boasts the best TripAdvisor rating in Le Marche, and enjoys a repeat booking rate which is the envy of the industry, as many of you who have been here three, four, five or even more times will know. Our business was created to be as environmentally friendly as possible and this is something we have become passionate about as we have striven to make Casal dei Fichi as green as possible, without compromising on guest comfort or standards. A quest for which we have won several awards.

Though we haven’t gone yet. Things in Italy can move very slowly and we’re still expecting to be here for a while, and relishing it.
After a headline grabbing rainy May and early June, summer has officially arrived here in Le Marche. For anyone who hasn’t yet made summer, or autumn, plans we still have some availability – even for some dates in July and August. So if you’ve been putting off that return to Casal dei Fichi maybe now is the time. A reminder for anyone flying, our nearest airport Ancona is served mainly by Ryanair but there are also summer flights with EasyJet from Gatwick. Perugia airport is also easily reached as is Pescara. Bologna and Rome airports are also frequently used by our guests.
Although we mainly operate Saturday to Saturday for bookings in July and August, we may be able to be flexible, depending on availability.
We are also excited about runing our Gourmet Break for the first time since the pandemic. We have a couple of spaces left on the 19 to 22 October weekend and would be delighted to lay on extra dates if the demand exists. This may be your last chance to let us pamper you starting with airport pick up, with meals in carefully chosen restaurants that reflect the variety of Marche cuisine (vegans and vegetarians willingly catered for). Vineyard tour with wine tasting, truffle hunting, and then eating, and a fascinating visit to an olive press will leave you wondering why you never tried it before.
So it’s not Goodbye, we fully expect to be enjoying running Casal dei Fichi for the 2024 season, yes we are taking bookings and we really hope to see as many of you as possible before we pass the pizza paddle to the next lucky owners of Casal dei Fichi.
