Wishing you Health, Happiness and Holidays in 2021

We’d like to wish everyone a very Happy, if slightly belated New Year from Casal dei Fichi. Though at the moment it feels as if 2020 hasn’t quite finished so maybe we’re a bit premature?

2020 wasn’t the total disaster we’d feared, when the situation relaxed over the summer we had several busy months, mainly Italians holidaying “locally” and it was a great pleasure to spread the secret of Le Marche to Napoli, Bari and Treviso.

This morning's sun on the snow covered Sibillini Mountains.

Like everyone we’re hoping that 2021 will see things start to return to normal.

If January 1st wasn’t the turning point we’d all hoped for then maybe by the Lunar New Year on 12 February we will see the things starting to get better. And surely it’s not unreasonable to expect that by the time Bengalis celebrate Pohela Boishakh on 15 April there will be a spring blossom of a new year worth embracing? Albeit in a socially distanced way.

Come late spring and summer, we all expect that life will be pretty much back to some sort of normal. And on a wintery January day what is more normal than to think about warmer sunnier times, Italian food, wine and culture and planning a holiday. New guests last year loved the freedom of their individual apartment with its own dedicated outdoor space and acres of gardens, meaning that keeping distanced was never a challenge. To guarantee peace of mind we are also continuing our reduced cancellation period. We promise 100% refund of any money you pay, up to 14 days before your stay, so that you can safely go ahead and book your holiday with no risk. We are hoping more than anyone that the situation will allow us to fire up the pizza oven once again and enjoy a great party!

Oh yes, and speaking of pizza parties, finally we have got around to posting a video of how we make the dough on youtube. Something to do in lockdown!

As ever we are grateful to our many loyal guests; many of you, unable to travel last year, rolled your holiday over to 2021. So although we have pretty good availability, there are a few weeks when we are fully booked. Please let us know if you have any dates in mind, we’d love to chat about what is available.
