With Covid infections in Italy running at about one sixth of those in the UK, what could be safer than your private apartment in the beautiful countryside? In public places including restaurants the “Green Pass” system is in operation so only vaccinated people, or those with antibodies or a negative test result are admitted. UK (the existing NHS app) and all EU certifications are accepted. Bob and Ian were vaccinated at the first opportunity.

After a hot dry summer the olive harvest promises to be phenomenal, anyone who has never smelt or tasted fresh olive oil is in for a treat. If the evenings turn chilly enjoy roast chestnuts in front of your log fire with a glass of red wine from a great local vineyard.
